I’ve been complimented on my food photography often and I always wonder what people would think if they saw how my photos looked before I edited them. I use Lightroom to edit my photos and probably spend up to an hour in post processing, depending on how many photos are in the shoot. Let’s just my photos are heavily edited. They don’t come out of the camera looking great.
I shoot only in RAW (see why you should shoot in RAW, too!) and I know that makes a big difference. It gives me more freedom and creative control to manipulate the photo into looking how I want it to. I know some of how a photo looks depends on the photographer, lens and camera, but I also think how you edit your photos plays a big role.
I wanted to share some before and after photos from Lightroom to show you how awful some of my photos are straight out of the camera.
Crazy, right? Who knew editing could make that much of a difference?! Let me tell you it does. I would be SO LOST if I didn’t have Lightroom as a tool. Having nice photos helps my blog traffic and income. I support my family with my blog so it’s very important to me!
