If you have recipes on your blog, one of your strategies should be using recipe Facebook groups! They are a gold mine. You’ll expose your posts to a new group of people (and hopefully get some blog traffic). It’s also a great opportunity to boost your reach on Facebook. I recommend sharing Facebook posts in recipe groups since we all know that Facebook loves Facebook. The posts tend to perform better than sharing a link straight to your blog.
I choose one Facebook post with a solid reach and share it in a few Facebook groups. The key here is to change the description for every post. Don’t copy and paste the same post to various groups. Make a unique caption for each group you share to.
A word of warning: lately, Facebook has been putting a few bloggers and VAs in Facebook jail for posting in too many groups. I used to do several groups a day, but have cut back to just two for now. My VA was put in Facebook jail for sharing the same post in multiple groups over a short time period. And not just once. I believe she was in Facebook jail a couple times. So be careful.
Recipe Sharing Groups
I recommend joining a bunch of Facebook groups and testing them out to see which ones perform the best for you. Here’s a list of several to get you started.
- Mom’s Best Recipes (my personal FB recipe group!)
- Canada’s Favourite Recipes (Randa’s recipe FB group)
- Crazy for Crockpots
- Favorite Recipes
- Cooking 101 Basics
- Recipe Sharing with The Best Blog Recipes
- Spend with Pennies Recipes and More
Add sharing your recipes to your to-do list each day. I have each group’s link in Trello so I don’t forget to add my recipes. I’ve noticed a difference in my Facebook reach since I started this task and highly recommend you try it too. Let me know how it works out for you in the comments below.
